PM meets the Ambassador of USA

Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay met with the Ambassador of United States of America (USA) to India, H.E. Mr. Richard Verma at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang today.

During the meeting, Lyonchhen and Ambassador Verma shared their views on cooperating closely in sectors such as education, human resource development, hydropower, other renewable energy sources, tourism, and CSIs among others.

Lyonchhen conveyed that America’s foresight and friendship have contributed significantly in protecting what has been dear to our nation; its assets such as culture and environment. Lyonchhen said that he held high regards for their support and goodwill in strengthening democracy in Bhutan.

Lyonchhen said that Bhutan shares a deep connection with America and informed that Bhutanese have studied in USA and many others are pursuing their studies there even to this day.

The ambassador expressed his appreciation on Lyonchhen’s statement at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, which was held in Gujarat, India. The ambassador also thanked Lyonchhen for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him and his delegation during their stay in the country.
