Chinese Ambassador calls on PM

Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay was called on by the Ambassador of People’s Republic of China, H.E. Mr. Le Yucheng at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang this morning.

Lyonchhen extended a warm welcome to the Ambassador on his first visit to Bhutan and conveyed that such high level visits provide an opportunity for Bhutan and China to exchange views on issues of mutual interest.

The Ambassador expressed his happiness on the cordial relations enjoyed by the two countries. He further applauded Bhutan’s development paradigm of Gross National Happiness and said that he was impressed with the stability and harmony enjoyed by the Bhutanese people.


Ambassadors of EU and Slovenia bids farewell

Ambassador Joao Gomes Cravinho paid a farewell call on Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang this afternoon.

Meeting the ambassador, the Prime Minister conveyed that Bhutan attaches high importance to its relations with the EU and that the longstanding relationship would continue to flourish in the years ahead. Lyonchhen said that EU’s enhanced assistance to Bhutan came at a critical phase in its socio-economic development. He also conveyed his gratitude to the ambassador for his role in inclusion of Bhutan as an eligible country for the European Investment Bank (EIB) assistance.


Ambassador of Federative Republic of Brazil and the Republic of Turkey bid farewell to PM

Ambassador of Federative Republic of Brazil, H.E. Carlos Sergio Sobral Duarte and Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, H.E Mr. Huseyin Muftuoglu bid farewell to Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay today.
Lyonchhen extended his deep gratitude to both countries for their goodwill and for attaching high importance to their relations with Bhutan.
The ambassadors thanked Lyonchhen and said that they will try their personal best to support Bhutan for all times to come.
