Lyonchhen meets with the Prime Minister of Slovenia, Dr. Miro Cerar in New York

Lyonchhen met with the Prime Minister of Slovenia, H.E. Dr. Miro Cerar in New York. During the meeting, the two Prime Ministers agreed that the two countries shared much in common, and agreed to work towards strengthening and enhancing bilateral relations.

Lyonchhen also delivered his statement at the “High Level Forum of Landlocked Developing Countries at the Heads of State & Heads of Government Level”.


Lyonchhen attended and made a Commitment Statement at the Global Leaders’ meeting on Gender equality and women’s empowerment: A commitment to action

Lyonchhen took part in a series of side events of the UN SDG Summit-2015. In the morning, Lyonchhen attended and made a Commitment Statement at the Global Leaders’ meeting on Gender equality and women’s empowerment: A commitment to action.

Lyonchhen noted that with “the adoption of the 2030 Agenda, the international community has a unique opportunity to ensure that addressing gender issues remain at the forefront of Sustainable Development.” Lyonchhen reiterated Bhutan’s commitment to the accelerated implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, and to the realization of the gender equality goals and empowerment in the 2030 Agenda.


PM visits gewogs in Sarpang

The Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay visited 12 gewogs of Samtenling, Gelephu, Sengye, Gakidling, Shompangkha, Dekidling, Taraythang, Umling, Chuzagang, Chhudzom, Sershong and Jigmecholing from 12-16 September under Sarpang Dzongkhag.

In a series of public meetings held in each gewog, Lyonchhen reminded the people of His Majesty the King’s aspirations and reassured them that the government would serve in their best interests to fulfill their wishes.
