Two-day Forum concludes

The 4th National Training Providers Forum on the theme ‘Surging Ahead towards Relevance and Quality’ was held for two days on 21st & 22nd April, 2016 at NRDCL conference hall.

The opening ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Lyonpo, Ngeema Sangay Tshempo, MoLHR with the launching of Technical and Vocational Education and Training Quality Assurance Management Information System (TVET-QAMIS) which mainly focuses on providing an online services to TVET Providers, Trainers, Assessors and disseminate information related to TVET providers, courses, trainers, assessors.
Currently, there are a total of 72 training providers registered with the Ministry, of which 13 are Government, four NGOs, two corporate and 53 are private training providers.
The Forum concluded with the awarding of Training Providers Excellence Award. Out of the 35 institutes who have applied for the award, the top three institutes Technical Training Institute-Chumey, Technical Training Institute-Khuruthang & Kunjung Institute of Technology and Innovation won the awards.

PM meets Mr. Diego Roberto Palacios Jaramillo, UNFPA

Lyonchhen met with Mr. Diego Roberto Palacios Jaramillo, UNFPA Country Director for Bhutan at Gyalyong Tshogkhang this afternoon. Lyonchhen welcomed Mr. Jaramillo to Bhutan and congratulated him on his appointment as the Country Director of UNFPA to Bhutan with residence in New Delhi.

Lyonchhen offered his condolences on the disaster occurred by the recent earthquake in Ecuador. The Director is from Ecuador.

Lyonchhen also expressed gratitude to the UNFPA for their financial and technical assistance to Bhutan, particularly in the field of population and family welfare programmes.

PM attended 30th Annual General Meeting of BCCI

Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and Economics Affairs Minister Lekey Dorji attended and interacted with the business representatives during the 30th Annual General Meeting of Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) held in Thimphu this morning.

Lyonchhen congratulated Aum Phub Zam, Dasho Tashi Dorji and Mr. Tandin Wangchuk on being elected as the President and Vice Presidents of the Chamber. Aum Phub Zam is the first woman president of the BCCI.
