Lyonchhen (Dr) Lotay Tshering met the officials of Royal Civil Service Commission on December 25, 2018. Lyonchhen and RCSC held discussions on the mandates, transformations and key challenges the RCSC faces.

Lyonchhen said that the 111th National Day’s address by His Majesty the King was directed to the civil servants where he felt the key message was for the civil servants and the government to work together.

Lyonchhen Dr Lotay Tshering, Foreign Minister Tandi Dorji and Finance Minister Namgay Tshering met members of media for the 1st ‘Friday Meet’ on 7th December, 2018.

The ‘Friday Meet‘ is an initiative of the government to meet members of media every Friday to share important decisions of the government and keep the public informed.

The Cabinet will meet members of media the last Friday of every month for Meet the Press sessions.

Lyonchhen Dr Lotay Tshering met H.E. Mr. Vijay Gokhale, Foreign Secretary, Government of India at Gyalyong Tshogkhag today.

After exchanging pleasantries, Lyonchhen expressed his appreciation to Prime Minister Modi for the telephonic call to felicitate him on election victory and said that he is committed to strengthening the special bond of friendship and cooperation shared by the two countries. “Our foreign policy should not change every five years with change in government,” Lyonchhen added.

The Foreign Secretary conveyed the warm wishes of the Prime Minister of India and assured Lyonchhen that India will continue to support Bhutan based on its priorities. On behalf of Prime Minister Modi, the Foreign Secretary extended an invitation to Lyonchhen to visit India.

Lyonchhen and the Foreign Secretary discussed Bhutan’s 12th Five Year Plan and other developmental activities of mutual interest.
