the convention for the protection of the world cultural and natural heritage;
promotion of living cultures; Reading for all; and Crib bean people: Tapestry of

  • During the 2002-2003 UNESCO’s General Conference in Paris participated in

UNESCO Commission meeting on the theme: Reinforcing normative action in the
field of culture: promotion of the convention for the protection of the world
cultural and natural heritage; and meeting new demands in the areas of standard
setting. Protecting cultural diversity and promoting cultural pluralism and
intercultural dialogue; safeguarding and revitalizing tangible and intangible
heritage; promotion of cultural pluralism and intercultural dialogue; strengthening
culture and development; and cross cutting themes.

  • During the 2004-2005 UNESCO’s General Conference in Paris participated in

UNESCO Commission meeting on the theme: Mainstreaming cultural diversity into
policy agendas at national and international levels. Promotion of the UNESCO
declaration on cultural diversity and implementation of its Action Plans.
Strengthening of the links between cultural policies and development policies;
encouraging arts and crafts for sustainable development; strengthening the role
of cultural creation in human and economic development.

  • Organized a workshop on tangible and intangible cultures in Thimphu in 1998 at

Thimphu in collaboration with National Commission for Culture

  • Organized a workshop on Authors and Publishers of Bhutan in collaboration with
