PM was called on by Mr. Roman Escolano, Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB)

Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay was called on by Mr. Roman Escolano, Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and his delegation at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang this morning.

The delegation congratulated Lyonchhen for the successful democratic transition and Bhutan’s developments so far.
Mr. Escolano informed that the EIB is well prepared to engage in concrete development as soon as possible and facilitate long-term competitive financing for Bhutan.

The vice president said that EIB is eager to collaborate with Bhutan and invest in projects such as hydropower, energy efficiency, and environment management through initiating reforestation programmes, water resources management and waste treatment practices. On this, the Prime Minister encouraged the delegation to work closely with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests in Bhutan and to come up with viable projects, which could soon be implemented.
