PM meets Cuban Ambassador

The Ambassador of Cuba to Bhutan, H.E. Mr. Abelardo Cueto Sosa called on Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang today.

Lyonchhen expressed his fascination and fondness for Cuba and its
achievements in preserving its vibrant culture. Ambassador Sosa shared that Cuba’s investments have been remarkable in biotechnology, human resources and other industries. He also said that doctors are extremely important assets and Cuba has around 65,000 doctors practicing in various countries.

Lyonchhen thanked the ambassador for dispatching doctors in Bhutan and further requested the ambassador to send specialists particularly gynaecologists to practice in Bhutan

Ambassador Sosa is the first Cuban Ambassador to Bhutan and had presented his credentials to His Majesty the King in 2012. This is his third visit to Bhutan.
