First Ambassadors of Morocco and Cuba arrive in the country

Prime Minister Lyonchhen Jigmi Y Thinley met with the first Ambassadors of Morocco and Cuba to Bhutan at the gyalyong tshogkhang today after establishing formal diplomatic relations with the two countries in November last year.
Lyonchhen welcomed the Ambassador of Kingdom of Morroco to Bhutan H.E Mr Larbi Reffouh and Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba H.E Mr Abelardo Cueto Sosa and said that these are two very important countries. Lyonchhen said that Bhutan has worked closely with Cuba on many fronts and especially in the international arena. With formal diplomatic ties, Bhutan will be able to work even more closely with both the countries. Lyonchhen also said that Morocco and Bhutan, both monarchies, share special sentiments towards each other and that it is the first African nation to establish formal diplomatic ties with Bhutan.
The Ambassadors said that they are immensely privileged to become the first Ambassadors to Bhutan and that they will cooperate in any field. The two Ambassadors offered support and assistance in the areas of university education, human resource development, and support in tourism and medical sectors.
