Hon'ble Jigmi Y. Thinley and Czech Ambassador in Bhutan

Ambassador of Czech Republic to India, H.E Miloslav Stasek, who is in the country this week as a special envoy of the Deputy Foreign Minister called on the Hon’ble Prime Minister Lyonchhen Jigmi Y Thinley at the Gyalyong Tshogkhang today.

Bhutan established formal diplomatic relations with Czech Republic in December 2011. Czech Republic had expressed interest to establish formal relations as early as year 2000.

The Ambassador spoke on the several areas of possible cooperation between the two countries and how Czech Republic wishes to intensify and strengthen its relationship with Bhutan in all aspects. Lyonchhen said that the prospects of cooperation between Bhutan and Czech Republic is very encouraging and that he welcomes all the ideas wholeheartedly. “Bhutan is very keen to learn and collaborate with Czech Republic in many areas,” he said.

Ambassador Stacek is on a four day visit to Bhutan and will leave the country on May 11.
