Lyonchhen met Mr. Haoling Xu, Assistant Secretary-General, Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific

llThe Prime Minister Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay met Mr. Haoling Xu, Assistant Secretary-General, Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific at the United Nations Development Programme today.
Congratulating Mr. Xu on his appointment, Lyonchhen expressed the Royal Government’s full confidence and faith in his leadership. Lyonchhen conveyed that RGoB attaches great importance to UNDP’s partnership and field presence and added that Bhutan’s progress so far is attributed to UNDP’s generous cooperation and development assistance.

Meanwhile, Lyonchhen informed Mr. Xu that Bhutan is privileged to have UNDP co-hosting the Round Table Meeting and highlighted that the RTM discussion will greatly benefit from Mr. Xu’s vast experience and wisdom.

Mr. Xu expressed his happiness in Bhutan’s development and recognised that Bhutan still faces many challenges. He reassured that UNDP is committed to continuing its cooperation and will render its support in fulfilling Bhutan’s development objectives.
