Lottery: 111th Lhengye Zhungtshog Decision

To do away with lottery operations altogether

August 23, 2011

The Lhengye Zhungtshog, concerned over the lottery issue, has directed the Ministry of Finance to submit its responses to the several observations that the Royal Audit Authority had made against the Bhutan Lottery operations. During the 111th meeting of the Lhengye Zhungtshog on August 23, the finance secretary presented the clarification/explanation against almost 25 Audit observations.

However, the Cabinet felt that Bhutan Lottery has been mismanaged, deliberately or not, for which the government has suffered embarrassment and had its intentions questioned by the Bhutanese media.
