Hon’ble Prime Minister in Afghanistan as SAARC Chairperson

Hon’ble Prime Minister Lyonchhen Jigmi Y Thinley met with the President of Afghanistan Mr Hamid Karzai soon after arriving in Kabul on Sunday afternoon.
The Prime Minister, who is on a three day visit to Afghanistan, was presented with a Guard of Honour before the meeting of the two leaders began at the Presidential Palace.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Lyonchhen Jigmi Y Thinley met the Prime Minister of Nepal Jhala Nath Khanal in Kathmandu, Nepal today.
Prime Minister Lyonchhen Jigmi Y Thinley, who is on a three day visit on the invitation of the government of Nepal, spoke with Prime Minister Khanal on various matters of mutual interest including the SAARC process.
Hon’ble Lyonchhen said that his visit to Nepal is as the current chair of SAARC and also, in his capacity as the head of government to strengthen and deepen relations between the two nations. Prime Minister Jigmi Y Thinley highlighted that Nepal and Bhutan, both landlocked countries with similar challenges posed by climate change, have common dreams and aspirations, and could learn together from each other’s experiences.
