Lyonchhen graced the ‘Inaugural of Fourth Meeting of SAARC Ministers on Poverty Alleviation’ as the Chief guest
This morning, Lyonchhen graced the ‘Inaugural of Fourth Meeting of SAARC Ministers on Poverty Alleviation’ as the Chief guest at Tashi Taj.
Speaking at the event, Lyonchhen said that South Asia has achieved significant overall development and economic growth in recent decades.
PM was called on by Mr. David B. Kaatrud, WFP Regional Director for Asia and Pacific Region
Lyonchhen Tshering Tobgay was called on by Mr. David B. Kaatrud, WFP Regional Director for Asia and Pacific Region today.
Lyonchhen said that WFP’s personal interest and support through their school-feeding programs have gone a long way in poverty alleviation, education, proper health care and nutrition of the Bhutanese children.
Lyonchhen and Mr. Kaatrud further talked about the importance of food fortification in combating vitamin and nutrient deficiency disease outbreaks.
Meeting Mr. Kaatrud, Lyonchhen expressed his gratitude and said that four decades of WFP’s generosity has benefitted the country enormously.
